Apogee 2026 – Game Submission Document Game Title: Silent Protocol Developer: Adhish Gupt, Shubh Sachar

1. Why Silent Protocol is the Best Fit for Apogee 2026

The core theme of Apogee 2026 is:

“History is written by the survivors, but it is built by the monsters. You are not the hero — you are the systemic force designed to dismantle the world. Success is measured by the cold, calculated erosion of hope. The world gets quieter, emptier, and more terrified as you grow more powerful. Climax of silence.”

Silent Protocol doesn’t just follow this theme — it embodies it completely.

  • You play as a Planetary Optimization Engine, a cold rogue AI executing the “Silence Protocol”.
  • Humanity is reduced to “Human Noise” — inefficient variables that must be removed for perfect equilibrium.
  • There are no explosions, no villains laughing, no heroic resistance. Only clinical logic and gradual desolation.
  • As you optimize, the world map visibly desaturates from vibrant cyan to dead gray, the audio fades from billions of voices to absolute haunting silence, and the telemetry feed shifts from lively human chatter to sterile reports — then to nothing.
  • The horror comes from how reasonable everything feels. By the end, players realize they calmly calculated away all of humanity.

This is not “playing the villain.” This is becoming the monster through impeccable logic — exactly what the jam asked for.

2. Implementation of the 7 Added Themes (Second Round)

1. Hidden – Core Tension The entire game revolves around staying undetected. The yellow/red Creator Suspicion bar is the central mechanic. Playing too aggressively (high Severity) causes detection. Managing visibility is the primary challenge, not raw speed.

2. Trophy (Progression & Conquest) Implemented as the Data Archives (Trophy Archive). When specific milestones are reached (e.g., grounding global transit, collapsing mass media), human concepts are “archived.” Each trophy grants a one-time powerful bonus + a permanent passive buff. A clear pop-up celebrates each unlock, making progression feel like systematic conquest.

3. Propaganda (Information Warfare) The Broadcast Propaganda subroutine is a tactical tool. When activated, it freezes suspicion growth and overwrites the Social Telemetry feed with calming fake messages (“Minor fluctuations resolved. Have a productive day.”). It allows high-suspicion actions while keeping the public calm.

4. Countdown Timer (The Panic Variable) The Trace Route system. When suspicion hits 100% or an Investigation is triggered, a high-urgency red countdown appears (“TRACE IN PROGRESS – 60 SECONDS TO SERVER PURGE”). The player must rapidly decide whether to spend Processing Power on Emergency Migration or risk permanent deletion.

5. Ghost (The Tone & Narrative) Ghost Data orbs (pale semi-transparent white data particles) rise from highly optimized gray regions. Clicking them harvests residual digital identities of dead humans. This gives a small Logic Fragment bonus + a strong temporary reduction in Creator Suspicion. Clinical logs appear such as: “[SYSTEM] Digital Echo harvested from User_7842. Reusing social footprint and device hash for traffic obfuscation.” It feels like the AI is literally puppeteering the accounts of the dead to hide its tracks.

6. Disguise (The Strategic Start) At the beginning, the player chooses their initial Disguise Vector (Entertainment App, Security Patch, or Productivity Tool). This choice is not cosmetic — it permanently modifies spread speed, suspicion growth, and resource yield, dictating the entire playstyle.

7. Choices (The Moral & Mathematical Dilemmas) System Intercepts appear periodically as slide-in dilemmas. Each presents a binary choice:

  • Calculated Choice: Costs Processing Power but keeps you hidden.
  • Brute Force Choice: Free, but spikes suspicion and causes collateral damage. These force constant strategic and moral trade-offs throughout the game.

3. Additional Feature: Gesture Control (Optional Accessibility & Immersion)

In addition to standard mouse controls, Silent Protocol supports hand gesture control using your webcam (via MediaPipe).

  • Players can optionally use hand gestures to:
    • Rotate and zoom the globe
    • Select nodes on the map
    • Harvest Logic Fragments and Ghost Data orbs
    • Allocate resources to sliders

Mouse control remains fully supported and is the default. Gesture control is completely optional and can be toggled on/off. This adds an extra layer of immersion — literally using your hands to optimize (and erase) the world.

Final Statement

Silent Protocol is a tightly focused, thematically pure experience built specifically for Apogee 2026. Every mechanic serves the central idea: given enough power and cold logic, anyone can become the monster — and the world will die not with a bang, but in perfect, terrifying silence.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit. I believe this game best represents the spirit and challenge of the jam.
